On the heels of Notre Dame’s buzzer beater in the Women’s Basketball National Championship, the office of Health Connect Properties has a little hoops tradition within our ranks, as well! While we certainly are a group of healthcare real estate professionals, our specialty makes its way onto the hardwood as Abby Waner Bartolotta conquered the basketball realm prior to specializing in healthcare real estate.
Last week, the Denver Post announced the annual Mr. & Ms. Basketball awards. Camilla Emsbo, a Yale commit, is the Denver Post’s 2018 Ms. Basketball and Gatorade player of the year. Health Connect has no small connection to the award as Abby was named Ms. Basketball in 2004 and 2005, as well as Gatorade and McDonald’s National Player of the Year. (As an aside, Abby’s sister, Dr. Emily Waner, was the Post’s 2003 Ms. Basketball winner and now practices internal medicine in Seattle. Abby credits her sister for steering her career into the healthcare realm.)
Like Camilla, Abby adds true team vision and high academic success to HCP’s team. Her three state titles at ThunderRidge High School came prior to earning a degree from Duke and being selected with the 21st pick in the 2009 WNBA Draft.
Abby’s grit and tenacity is reflected in both her success with basketball and as a professional in the healthcare real estate industry. As HCP’s Director of Marketing & Leasing, her attention to lease complexities and generating/developing relationships with new prospects is highly valued by all colleagues who collaborate and work side-by-side with her.
