We can’t believe October is already over; however, this fall was filled with more treats than tricks for Health Connect Properties (HCP)!
We are extremely proud to share our participation as a Blue Medal Sponsor in the BOO-tiful Vista 5K Run/Walk & Trunk-Or-Treat Fundraiser. While the race itself was the highlight of the evening, the Trunk-Or-Treat portion of the event definitely takes the cake (or should I say candy?) for our favorite part of the event.
HCP’s Controller, Patrick Flores, and his wife, Carmel Flores, organized the run/walk and fundraiser, with more emphasis on the Trunk-Or-Treat portion. The cause of this race is not only important to Patrick and Carmel, both having kids who attend Rocky Mountain Deaf School (RMDS), but also to HCP. Our president, Pat Wassik, has been a lifelong competitive runner. The sponsorship melds together two key causes our company actively supports: running and RMDS.
RMDS hosted the race and fundraiser at Fehringer Ranch Park on October 29th in the southwest Denver Metro area near RMDS. Along the route, runners and walkers passed supporters on the sidelines holding posters with American Sign Language (ASL) sign words and other Halloween-related motivation.
In total, the event raised over $5,000! Proceeds will benefit RMDS. “The profit will go towards equipment (3D printer among other things) the school could use,” said Patrick Flores.
And rounding out the month of October, our Director of Marketing & Leasing celebrated her birthday on Halloween day (Happy belated birthday, Abby!). In addition, Pat Wassik, participated in the OctobeRun Half Marathon in Red Wood City, California finishing in the top twenty runners for all female participants!
